I'd have to check my info but....

When we had the legal imports going on toucans weren't on the list of birds to import. If there are any here that aren't in zoos (anyone who is part of ARAZPA (the zoo peoples) can legally import with the BS to go along with it) then chances are they are here illegally.

Friend of mine was part of one of the last legal imports of parrots. The hoops he had to jump through and the submissions to Canberra were like a novel.

Do you mean in Australia or in general? Here is the top breeder in the US: Toucans EmeraldForestBirds.com . They sell 14 species of toucan, toucanets and aracaris. I included the link since they have some beautiful pictures!

I love the toucans and would absolutely love to own one. Too bad there's none in Australia. :\
I like the Curl Crested Aracari. http://www.emeraldforestbirds.com/curlcresteda2.htm

Courtzrocks did you go to Aves?

Toucans are here- if anyone is familiar in Aus of Australian Aviarylife magazine.
Im good mates with the co-editor.
He said that Vetafarm (Australian specialized bird products) is making a new pellet for toucans. When my mate questioned why it was that Taronga apparently has some (not on display as yet)
He also said there is some that have got the odd cock bird; im not shore what type. But who knows where these people have aquired these birds.
I dont think they are illegal though but would cost alot of money.

Zac
