Wood 4 Toys

I'm seriously thinking about getting into making toys of my Congo African Grey

I'm just curious as to where everyone get their wood pieces and how do you make sure it's safe or not

I get the wood I use at Home Depot and the local craft store. Here is a good list of safe wood.

Safe and Dangerous Woods

Bird; Birds: Safe, Toxic Trees, Woods. Safe Tree Wood. Poisonous. Parrots. Parrot cages.

HEY JIM, thanks for that list. today i was at home depot looking at the dowls, for some perch material for my macaw cage. i noticed the banister material, nice fat stuff for birds with big feet. its hemlock. on the first lst it says the wood is safe but the folage is bad. on the second list, its on the usafe colum. i'll try to google somemore lists, for more opinions. please link some more list that you know of. oh and happy birthday!!

When you go to buy wood, ask if they spray for bugs. Many stores get sprayed and have to watch for that.
