Hemp Seeds-----beware Of Moths!
Hemp seeds are certainly very good for birds. They contain essential fatty acids. I only buy hemp hearts (unshelled) now. I did buy 5 lbs. of the seeds from a pet supply but within a short time found the box alive with moths and larvae.

Whenever I buy food for my GCCs I put it in the freezer for a few days. That usully takes care of any bugs that happened to be among the seeds.
