Sisal& Manila Swing

I made Ajax a manila/sisal swing & chew thing

he's a major shredder

Looks great and he looks like he's ready to have fun! What did you use for the hoop? My tiels would LOVE something like that!

i used 12 guage stainless steel wire looped around twice

stainless is a good choice, you can wash it with no worry of rust.

yup
if anyone isplannign on making something similar or workign with short pieces or rope
i'd recommend keeping a hand vac around
as the small pieces of rope can get EVERYWHERE!!!!

lols

even tiny pieces get stuck on your shirt

so beware u may get rope splinters (hope u guys know what i mean) in your fingers as u have to pull the rope as tight as possible

First of all, that is very nice work!! Job well done.

Secondly, I would recommend anyone working with the natural ropes to consider a light well fitting pair of gloves. For about a week after I was still picking fibers out of my hands as if they were splinters.

i didn't have that issue
but there were lots of rope splinters left on the table

i would really like to see a pic of the stand that i saw in the back of the swing it looks like it would be nice to have. i am about to get a parrot that is named doctor and i want to have everything ready for him. i have had cockatiels for years but they are different than a parrot and i want to make him as happy as possible i think hes an amazon but not sure

but i've added a diy boing to it and many other toys

lols for info on the playstand look under "ajax's diy playstand"
