Need some ideas

My baby tiels LOVE to take things apart. Their food dishes are plastic with plastic hooks that hold them to the cage bars. They have figured out how to get the food dishes off the cage and THEN get the plastic hooks out of the food dish. They will also spend hours a day chewing on every connector for every toy they have, trying to get them off the cage and have figured out how to get the bells off of a couple of their toys. Does anyone have any ideas for "take apart" toys for tiels? I know there are a lot of great toys for larger birds but I haven't seen anything that is tiel appropriate.

I have seen some at bird fairs that are stainless gadgets with lots of nuts and screws designed to be worked and screwwed and done and undone without actually coming off. Ive been trying to get my hubby to make one, lol, he is a machinist!

I will have to try that! They LOVE anything shiny as well. That did remind me of a toy I saw for ferrets that I think they would love. It's made of dyed wood of different size dowels that are shaped in a ball. It's supposed to be a chew toy for them and it has a nut in the middle for a treat but the dowels come off so I think they would like it. At least they would have fun sliding everything off of it! They are just too smart for their own good!!! They even figured out that if they step or peck on a certain key hard enough on my keyboard it will make the computer beep
