plastic beads?

hi,i got these plastic beads today with the idea of making toys for my ringneck,has anyone else used similar sized beads and do you think they will be safe to use?

Yes, those are used on many toys found in pet stores and on line, but as with any toy, there is a hazard if they come apart, so make your toys bullet, i mean bird proof.

I have used them for my tiels, keets and canaries. I was too frightened to use them on a bigger bird.
Ringnecks are illegal in NJ, so I have no experience with them, and not sure how rough they are on toys, or the size of the beak....
hopefully other ringy owners will chime in.

If your ringneck isn't intent on destroying toys, they may be fine to use... however, if he loves destroying toys then you'll need to find bigger beads... even wooden.

she does like to chew thing to bits,i made her cage out of wood and she likes to chew strips out of it!! i was expecting her to chew at it though so thats fine,i think ill try with some on her play stand and if she starts breaking them ill just get bigger ones,thanks..by the way i have read that ringnecks are banned in NJ before,how come?is it the noise?

ah, pony beads, they are on lots of toys at the store. I stopped having them for my birds however after my Mustache got one stuck on her beak, maybe just a rare thing but I don't use them anymore. good luck.

yup i use those all the time on toys i make for shadow.. he chews them a little bit but has never broken or cracked one

well i gave her some of them on a toy on her stand and she mouths them but doesnt actually bite them hard so i put the toy in her cage but i will check it daily just to make sure :)
