How do you make toys out of phone books?

I've heard of alot of parronts using phone books as toys. I was thinking about cutting them up into three or four pieces so we had enough to go around to all the fidlets... has anyone done this? Also, what do you use to string them up with?

Any help would be appreciated

You can also weave the phone books through the cage bars, or? For Noel, I just put the phonebook on the bottom of the cage, and she'll get to it sooner or later... unless I removed something and bolted the phonebook to the side of the cage.

I drilled the hole in My U2's and hung from a chain. For my macaw I have it just sitting on top of his cage. He likes it better that way. He also LOVES his phone book! LOL As much as they love them, they are a huge mess!

This might be a stupid question, but you can use any ol' phone book?

You don't have to clean it or anything?

They don't exactly eat it do they? Wouldn't the ink make them sick?

That's a great idea for a toy though... i might have to try it out

There is no such thing as a stupid question. Im my oppinion a stupid question is one that isn't even asked! You won't know till you ask and learn!

Yes you can use any phone book, you don't have to clean them (unless they have been ouside forever and a year, then I wouldn't use it.)

Ink will not make them sick as they don't use harmful ink anylonger. And they don't eat it , they just shred and make a HUGE mess of it!

Just a word of caution, Drilling the holes in the corner area is a pain. It isn't as easy as you think! But also don't push so hard when drilling that you see smoke (HA HA and the member on here knows I am talking about HER).

I also just lay my Macaws on top of his cage and he stands on it ripping it. For my too I hung it up!

When you say any... yellow pages or whites pages included? I was wondering about the yellow as they now have different colors of ink, not just black.
