Lightbulb Anyone thought of using one of these?

Has anyone thought of making a toy from a Hoberman Sphere? Linky to what they look like: http://www.houseofrave.com/hoberman-mini-rainbow.html My son used to have one of these and I think they would be great. The come in expanded sizes from around 4" all the way up to 4 feet! There is a 12" and a 30" size.

It does look like it could be a fun toy! However, how easily can it be destroyed? If a bird chewed on it, would they ingest it? How safe are the parts if ingested?

I can see where a bird might get a huge kick out of one of those, but they aren't sturdy enough for mine (big birds, big beaks)

I played with one once and one thing I thought of was they collapse down on a little birdie toe easy and it hurts little birdie toe.

I would be afraid of it folding up on my birds, I would not let them play with it.

From what I remember about it, it will not fold up if it is suspended.

I thought about one too. Looks like it could be fun but thought it had too many pinching points.

The toy parts could get swallowed and choke your bird and if it did get into the crop it would be very had for your bird to digest

I think that like Adinah said pinching points would be the biggest problem. Feet, toes or even beaks could get caught. I would go with the opinions of the others and say no to this toy.
