A few toys I made

Hello all, I just wanted to post these pictures of the toys that a friend and I made this past weekend. After visiting a local bird shop and being inspired by the $15+ price tag on most toys, we decided to go buy some bird-friendly craft supplies of our own and make some toys. I have found a few sites online that I will be ordering more supplies from...it was a LOT of fun. enjoy!

Looks good. It's nice to make your own toys. You are able to design them with only the stuff your bird(s) likes and you save money too! My zon and ekkie like very few toys I've bought but seem to prefer the ones I make. They watch me build the toys. I think it adds to the excitement.

yes kiwi was so excited the whole afternoon that we made the toys. it was hard to keep him off the table so we could actually get them made. lol.

oh and just a tip/idea for everyone.... the toy all the way to the left my friend made. we dont have any of the metal hooks for the cages, so he just tied a knot with the leather rope around a popsicle stick. that way, you can just put it through the bars of the cage and it will hold itself. if that makes any sense!?!?! haha

HAHAHA ya you got it right, on all parts! Unfortunatley I'm the only person in Winnipeg that I know that owns a bird.... so it may have to be a beer and pizza party with crafting on the side :P

You can get friends to do ANYTHING if beer and pizza is involved!

Nice job! I love making my own toys. We have toy parts everywhere. I started out making them myself and now my husband makes more than I do.
