Go to hobby lobby and you can get a whole bunch of large popsicle sticks for like 3$. Hobby lobby has a bunch of cool plain wood.

I would get the plain ones from the craft store and dye them myself with a bird-safe food dye. And I would only dye them if that's the only way to get the bird interested in them, otherwise, I'd just leave them natural.

I have used the dollar store craft stick both the small natural ones and the large ones in natural and dyed bright colors. I think they are okay. My birds bust them apart but do not eat them. If I thought they were swallowing any bits that would be a different story, though.

You can get uncolored ones at Walmart in their craft section.I personally would steer clear of predyed ones, unless buying them from a bird supplier.

I buy my popsicle sticks in 500ct. packages at my local dollar store. I buy the un-dyed ones and paint them with a watered-down solution of food coloring on them--same with the old-fashioned, wireless clothespins.
