Question on plastic string

I was looking at some toys in Petsmart the other day, they seemed to just have some plastic lanyard string through the middle (you know, like the keychains girls used to make back in middle school?) I found some at WalMart, and I think this would be a rather safe item, what do y'all think?

I've looked at it before too... brought back memories of MY middle school time. :)

I ThInK it would be safe (as in non-toxic since its for kids, don't know about birds).

I've not seen anyone say for sure. Defiantly interested in following this thread!

In short lengths, it might be fine but I don't know about any toxicity issues with it. However, just like all rope, you need to make sure it's not long enough for the bird to get it wrapped around his neck.
