Red face Reusing Broken Toys

Hey everyone. I got this idea lately, after my birds dismantled certain toys and there were just pieces everywhere - beads, shells, bells, etc. I asked my dad for some pliers, bought some popsicle sticks, and remade some of the toys into 'new' ones. The birds are happy with them
It's quite simple, just undid the metal loop at the end with the pliers, and restrung different parts on. I think this is the start of me making a lot of homemade bird toys :) I discovered this site today too, it has some great ideas.
CPTT...toy index

I save and re-use all my toy parts too! Why throw them away when they can be re-assembled into new toys? My Grey loves the Treasure Chest and toys like that, and I can stuff it full of small toy parts, pieces of woven palm and corn husks (tamale wrappers) with an almond wrapped in a coffee filter as his treat he searches for. Keeps him fairly busy!

Reuse toys

Oh yes, save them and reuse! I will soak them in some dish detergent or put in the dishwasher and then reuse them. I also to to the dollar store and make my own.
