Just bought toy parts online

I just bought a whole lot of toy parts online, aswell as the straw twirly cutter that Xafsmom posted in another thread. My poor bank account!!

I have plans for most of the parts but will need ideas for some other impluse buys. I will post photos when they arrive :)

In the meantime, feel free to post pics of your greatest DIY toy achievement!

At the moment, this is a hit with my IRN. It is a rubber dog toy ($6) and in it I put newspaper, shredded paper and macaw sized rowdy bush.

that is a neat one. I want to buy some wiffle ball type things... I looked at the dollar store but they didn't seem to have them.

My DIY are nothing spectacular, I have seen some awesome ones.. but I am improving. I can't wait to make some complicated ones with many beads and parts sticking out of a wiffle ball.

empty NERDS candy boxes strung onto a metal rod. Trooper destroyed it in a few minutes :p

simple 'straws and beads' toy

popsicle stick toy

the greys love their cardboard! simple yet entertains them for a long time

I like the idea of stringing up small boxes like that. I put treats in small boxes and hide them around the cage but I never thought of hanging them up.

And the greys look so content destroying that cardboard!

Hey, it doesn't matter if the toys look professional! All that matters, is that you have happy birds. They don't need all the colors, shapes, and extras. Those are there to get our attention. Sometimes the cardboard box is a lot more fun than what's inside. I don't think your toys look bad. Stringing beads and things from wiffle balls are actually easy. So is making toys with stainless steel wire. I was surprised. I made some that looked like I bought them before but usually they look homemade and my birds love them. May I ask where you placed your order? I'm always looking for new places to buy supplies.

Andie I love your rubber dog toy one.
Made some thing similar in the past but cockatoos tend to chew them to bits very quickly..lol.
It looks a great toy for your ringneck;)

If wiffle balls are like balls with lots of holes in?
The Walmart over here often has what are small "practice" golf balls.
Think they are called air balls.
Just little plastic golf ball sized...balls.They come in packs of 6 and in English money are around 99 pence.
They look just like the ones I have seen bird toys made from.
I hope links are okay, finally found a picture on amazon of what I mean

I searched relentlessly for wiffle balls the other day. I told the guy in the sports section of walmart that they were for making bird toys and he looked extremely confused.

this toy took me about an hour this morning. I purchased a cotton mop and beads, and used some of the straws I already had.

I love those rubber dog balls!

Your nerds toy made me LOL!!! My daughter would love to help in that creation! She'd eat the candy for me! She's so giving.
