Tricks

Sunny (Eclectus) is 5 months old now and picks things up pretty easily so I thought it'd be a good time to try to teach him some fun tricks. Does anyone have any ideas of some easy tricks I should start out with?

shake (hands)

During a step, have your finger partially across the birds chest, instead of the whole way. Say 'shake' and when the bird reaches out to step with the foot, let it touch your finger, then praise while you pull away.

Waving hello. Put your hand up and wave every time you say hello. Tani Robar puts out some really good training CDs. If you get them, start with Disc2.

Here's a visual presentation of how to teach your bird to wave hello!
