need more stickies

Would some of the more experienced members please, please, oh god please write up some decent info in a few stickies. There a lot of overlap on this forum, so the may not all go here, but stuff like

Settling in a new bird
-do this
-dont do that

Putting and end to nipping/biting
-for this bird try this, this and that
-for that bird try this, that, and this

Bird Clicking
-its voodoo
-its magic

Some other problem azoudis hasnt run into to yet
-do this and that

Its frustrating to see small pieces of a large ball of knowledge scattered around. I have been reading for quite some time, i am getting portions or the big picture, but also some contradictory advice and incomplete advice. I may have missed where such stickies may be because of the overlapping nature of this forum, biting could be in "Get Help With Your Bird " or "Training Techniques" or even in a "specific bird" subforum, which from the looks of it each cover all of the topics in all the other subforums.

I hope i didnt come across as harsh, just sharing my user experience. Also i have been bitten lots by a new bird so i need help on the specific topics and cant seem to find i final answer for anything.

I sympathize with your frustration, but please keep in mind that this is a discussion group/forum and isn't intended to be a comprehensive, cohesive guide to bird care. There are many informational websites that do aim to provide this kind of information, and if you google your bird's species you're sure to find some of them. There are also a lot of books written about basic bird care, and if you visit your local library you can read some for free. (But be careful about following the advice of older books, since many ideas about bird care have changed in recent years.) A subscription to BirdTalk magazine is a cheap way ($14/year if ordered online) to have a steady flow of basic information.

Forums are basically designed to deal with specific questions as they arise so the information is gonna be piecemeal, end of story. Stickies will be helpful for a few members, but when there are too many of them they just get in the way of the majority who only want to see the latest posts. The number of stickies is something for the owners/moderators to decide (and I'm not one of them!) but personally, I like the board the way it is.

When you can't find the answer to a specific question, feel free to go ahead and ask the question yourself. If it's something that's been answered a million times already (the full spectrum lighting issue comes to mind) then you might be referred to an older thread by people who were there for the original discussion. Or you might get a fresh answer meant just for you!

I understand what you are saying but i refuse to accept that information in a forum must be a "piecemeal". I am am member of very many quality forums ranging in topics from computer operating systems, to cars, to online video games with real cash economies.
One of the common problems with forums is that the same questions are asked again and again and again... that is what stickies are for, end of story. If every third question is the same and different advice is being given, certain people are getting bad advice, defeating the purpose of a forum in general.

I respect that people like things the way they are, but a few basic and common things need to be stickied to everyone can be on the same page. If they are all listed in the same spot, the inconsistencies can be found and edited out. Thats only one advantage. Keep in mind now that people can also easily find this more accurate information.
