Baby Tiel Tips

I just purchased a hand raised Lutino Tiel. Yousel is only 8 weeks old. I have only had him for 3 short days but we are bonding fabulously. I am already noticing some of his quirky tendencies and have fallen in love with him. I am looking for any tips that you can all offer me. Anything on bonding, feeding, training, socializing, toys. I am not totally new to birds, I had budgies when I was younger. But I do realize this is going to be much different. I look forward to the challenge of raising an smart well behaved yet playful tiel.

I just bought a gray tiel last week that is 3 and a half months old. I named him PJ. I just use a firm voice and keep repeating whatever i am telling him. He does whistle.

bonding: Sit with him, talk to him, sing to him. Give him headscritches if he will let you. If you have only just got him this might not be possible yet.

feeding: I'm assuming he is fully weaned. Look into a balanced diet, what sort of things you can cook for him, what kind of veggies you will feed and what seed / pellet mixes you are going to use.

training: You say that you are bonding allready, build up the trust, then start teaching him to step up. Once you've got that mastered whatever else you want to train him is up to you.

socializing: do you mean with other people? Or other birds?

toys: get toys that will interest him, not ones that look nice to you, try to have enough to rotate before he looses interest, I think that's generally what people try and say about toys.
