Directory of Parrot Training Information

I'm often asked about training because of Carly, my free-flighted African Grey. Here is a link to my favorite resources. These are all highly trained specialists who have years of education and experience working with birds at zoos and parks, as well as with educating companion parrot owners.

None of these will offer a "quick fix" for problems, or guarantee that "in just X days" you will have your bird trained to do whatever you want. They do offer articles, blogs, workshops, internet classes books, and DVDs that are either free or reasonably priced and will help you learn and understand parrot behavior and the training process.

Training is not only a must for behavioral issues, but is also a tremendous source of enrichment. And when done properly, you will find it really strengthens the relationship with your bird.

Happy training!

The link title should read:
Parrot Training: Behavior, Flight and Enrichment

(it's not just about flight training anymore)
