Need advice on new training idea...

One of my birds loves coming out of her cage to spend time with hubby and me on the couch....

I wanted to rig up some ropes or something so she can just come out onto the rope and walk over to the couch when she wants to and also be able to walk back on her own...

My question is, how would I teach her to go back into her cage to poop? She does know what "go poop" means but I'm not quite sure how to teach her to walk up the rope and go in her cage............

Any suggestions?

Every 5/10/15 mins (however often she poops) lure her along the rope towards the cage with a treat and when she gets there give the poop command and lavish her with treats and attention when she goes. Keep repeating this until she gets the idea.

That's a great idea! I might give that a try. I tried to rig up some kind of rope system when I first got Ducky but she would rather fly, or walk along the floor then climb up the couch herself. But now that you've brought the idea to my attention again, I'm going to try to find something she might like better. You should post a pic of your system if it works out for you. Good Luck!
