Hmm.. Im not sure..... Now this is what I would do... ( you may think its crazy) but I would put the towel over my head and make it look very interesting to Pogo.... Or even maybe just cover your hand with the towel and kinda do a peek a boo thing....

I do not know if you can get this DVD in Canada, but expert bird trainer Barbara Heidenreich has a DVD, Training Your Parrot for the Veterinary Exam. To see more about it check: Training Your Parrot for the Veterinary Exam (Series Part 2) by Barbara Heidenreich - Bird video tapes and parrot DVDs from Avian Publications. . The description says that it teaches you how to get your bird used to towels and towel restraint.

I agree with Matt, the video is great. I have one, too. The jist of it is to pair it with something positive. The video is worth the investment because it is inexpensive - the trianing though, is invaluable.

Did the person you got Pogo from throw a towel over her to get her out of the cage? That's what the pet store did with my conure and he was terrified of towels as well. I started with washcloths and played peekaboo (AFTER he trusted me as his new owner to begin with!) and now he doesn't mind at all, crawls under blankets and everything.
