Fidel one of my GCCs struts up and down the perch, even in the aviary. One of the things I really noticed when I got him. That and the attitude hence the name Fidel after the dictator.
Is she doing it with her head fluffed up and the little sway? That with the strut/pacing is a real I'm a big tough bird thing with them.

When she looks at me it looks as if she's submitting because she puts her head down like a dog would. She does listen to me and respond to either the tone of my voice or the word 'no' itself when she bites, but I've come to notice that the biting is just boredom, so I just keep her busy.
And as for the pacing back and forth, she doesn't do it with her head puffed up, but she sometimes stops and hides her eyes behind the bars so I can't see her lol, well, at least she can't see me. The pacing ended after about 5-10 minutes. |

Sounds like she's eager to get out and wants your attention....

Is it possible if I got her a companion (she's only around 3 months old) from the same parents (the babies are now about 4 weeks old) and had them bond during weaning that they would be able to keep each other company or would this just create two birds that pace back and forth?
I've been considering getting get a friend and I'm prepared to take on the responsibility (I've been keeping exotic pets for about 10 years) but was wondering if getting her a friend would help her overall psychologically? |
