Clicker training tips?
Well, I introduced Hess to the clicker today...not much more than just clicking it and trying to get her used to the sound and to the reward. She didn't like it! She would just fly back to her cage (and her wings are clipped...those tiels are great fliers) and get grumpy with me when I tried to pick her up.
I'm just curious if anyone has any tips or suggestions as to where to start/how to go about clicker training. I really want to get her to the point where I can put an aviator on her...I watched the video and have started touching her wings and covering her eyes when I pet her, but she hates it when I touch or lightly pull on her wings. She just flies back to the cage. Tips?

The click is too loud for a lot of birds in the beginning. Until he gets used to it, you can muffle the sound by holding the clicker tight against your body or wrapping it in a piece of cloth. You can also use something else to make the sound, like a pen.
There are brief descriptions of clicker training at How to Clicker Train a Bird | eHow.com and How to Clicker Train Your Bird Jamieleigh's Parrot Help But for really best results, buy this book: Amazon.com: Clicker Training for Birds (Getting Started) (9781890948153): Melinda Johnson: Books and/or join this yahoo group: Bird-Click : Bird-Click
