Success

Finally all the hard work is paying off. I have spent hours a day working with Boomer to step up and not be afraid of humans due to the abuse. Well the last couple days he has been stepping up on my arm every single times I ask him to without fail. Now he even sits on me and kisses me, grooms my hair and face. It’s like now he NEEDS to be with me.

So if anyone says it can’t be done well it can. It just takes patience, hard work and consistency.

He will even sit with me and watch tv now. We are becoming the best of buds. I’ve only had him three weeks.

But to step up is amazing to me since I did not think after what that bird has been threw could be done. Well he has blown me away and always wants out to be on me.

I am thrilled how well Boomer has adjusted.

Oh he sure is making huge progress. Im just so happy with him. I could have got a three month old baby or a 7 month old GCC. I chose Boomer the 7 month old because he was so frail and pathetic and desperately needed food and water. It would have been awesome to have a baby but my heart broke for Boomer and I know I made the right choice. He was also pretty expensive.

But he is nice and settled here, he sings and Chiquita makes it into a competition to out scream Boomer. She HAS to be louder. lol

Training does take a lot of patience and work but it truly pays off in the end. Sometimes you think this will never happen but you keep at it and it does happen. That is the best part. I taught Chiquita to say “Weeeeeee”. That is so funny, she says it constantly.

So Boomer fits right in and is a part of the family now and is VERY VERY loved.

Wow! Three weeks!! It took me that long to get the boys to stop screaming to go away! You rock!! I'm glad that he's doing so well and is so responsive to you!!

Thanks guys. I think we bonded right from the start. When I got him he was so frail I just held him in my hand and he would sleep in it. I was pretty worried he would die but didn't, thank goodness.

I took him to the vets right away, he was fine but malnourished and dehydrated.

But he is learning VERY fast. Im shocked. It took me a long time to train Chiquita, much longer. But she also had NO human contact what so ever, just to fee and water them. I tend to pick the needy animals. They need homes too.

So what should I train Boomer to do next????
